Mumbai, For the first time after the change of power in Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and NCP President Sharad Pawar met on a platform. On Wednesday, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Ashish Shelar along with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar attended a special dinner ahead of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) elections. On this occasion, Shinde said that Pawar’s sharing the platform with him and BJP leaders may disturb some people’s sleep.
By the way, Eknath Shinde did not name anyone but his statement is believed to be for former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. On this occasion, Shinde said that Pawar, Fadnavis and Shelar going on the same stage may disturb some people’s sleep. But this is not the place for politics. We are all sports fans and supporters. That is why we have come together to grow the game despite our political differences.
The Maha Vikas Aghadi government led by Uddhav Thackeray collapsed due to the rebellion of the Shinde group. Shinde’s rebellion with 39 out of 55 Shiv Sena MLAs also led to a split in the party. Then Eknath Shinde formed an alliance with BJP. Then Eknath Shinde became the CM and Devendra Fadnavis the Deputy CM.
Voting for the five posts of office bearers of the Mumbai Cricket Association, nine councilors of the MCA and two representatives of the T20 General Council, Mumbai, is scheduled to take place on October 20. Thackeray’s close aide Milind Narvekar and NCP leader Jitendra Awad are also contesting the election. Pawar and BCCI’s newly appointed Treasurer and BJP’s Ashish Shelar have filed nominations from the panel.
