After hearing the news of the death of a family member after the match against Mumbai Indians, Hershal Patel got out of the bio-bubble and left for home. It is learned that after the death of Hershal Patel’s sister, he left his bio bubble and returned home.
Hershel Patel has been a stellar performer for the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the last two seasons, taking two wickets in the team’s seven-wicket win over the Mumbai Indians. “Unfortunately, Hershel has had to release the bio-bubble due to the death of his sister,” an IPL source said. He did not take a bus from Pune to Mumbai.
According to sources, Hershal Patel’s sister was in poor health for a few days. And he died on Saturday. Hershel Patel is likely to play his next match against Chennai. The match is scheduled to be played on April 14. It has been reported that when Hershal Patel returns to the IPL, he will have to remain in quarantine.
In the meantime, he will have to undergo corona test and will be able to re-enter the bio-bubble only after the report is negative. Herschel, 31, has played in eight Twenty20 Internationals since making his debut last year. Herschel also won the Purple Cap in the IPL last season. He was the fastest with 4 wickets in 12 matches.
He has always been a star player of RCB. RCB has won three of the four matches so far this season thanks to bowlers like Hershel Patel, who has taken six wickets in four matches this season.
