Mumbai, On Monday, the first trading day of the week after the holiday, the stock market opened at the red mark again due to weak global signals. The 30-share BSE benchmark Sensex opened 1,140 points, or 1.7 per cent, lower at 8,205. The NSE’s Nifty index started trading at 18.15, down 9 points or 1.21 per cent.
With the market opening, about 20 stocks have risen, 1211 stocks have fallen and 12 stocks have remained unchanged. It is to be noted that the stock market started at the green mark on Wednesday last week, but after the volatile trading of the day, both the indices finally closed with a decline. The BSE Sensex fell 3 points, or 0.21 per cent, to close at 8.6, while the NSE Nifty index fell 3 points, or 0.21 per cent, to close at 12.5.
