Karachi, At the age of just 26, Manisha Rupeta has done what no one has been able to do in the history of 75 years. Facing all the challenges, Manisha has become the first Hindu DSP of Pakistan. Manisha has proved her family wrong by getting this position.
Manisha’s goal is to become a woman guard. He wants to bring equality in the patriarchal society, make women self-sufficient and is ready to face all challenges for it.
Manisha hails from Jacobabad in Sindh region. Manisha believes that women are the most exploited in patriarchal Pakistan and they also become victims of many types of crimes. Manisha cleared the Sindh Public Service Commission exam last year.
Manisha was ranked 16th in the list of 152 successful candidates. Manisha is currently undergoing training. After training he will be employed as DSP in Lyari area. “Since childhood, my sisters and I have lived this old style, where girls are told that if they want to study and work, their only option is to be a teacher or a doctor,” says Manisha.
Coming from a middle-class family, Manisha says, there is a belief that girls from good families should not work in the police service or the district court. I want to break this myth.
He further states that women are the most exploited in our society and are victims of various crimes. I joined the police because I think we need a woman protector. I feel that by working as a senior officer I will be able to empower women and contribute to bringing them forward.
Manisha wants to work for equality and empowerment of women not only in the society but also in the police force. Manisha was already inspired by the work being done by the police force. It is noteworthy that Manisha’s mother raised her after her father’s death. Manisha’s mother had shifted to Karachi with the children.SS1MS
