Harare, Team India has won by 10 wickets in the first ODI played in Harare. With this, they have taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The Zimbabwean team scored only 189 runs while batting first. In response, Team India achieved the target without a wicket in 30.5 overs.
After a strong performance by the bowlers for India, the openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill did wonders. Gill scored 82 not out and Dhawan scored 81 not out. Before this, Akshar Patel, Irishman Krishna and Deepak Chahar took three wickets each in the bowling.
It may be noted that this is the first win under the leadership of KL Rahul. Chasing the target, India’s openers Jade Dhawan and Gill batted brilliantly and scored 43 runs in the powerplay. Both faced the Zimbabwean bowlers with ease. Dhawan completed his half-century in 76 balls and took India’s score past 100 in the 20th over.
Gill then completed his half-century in 51 balls while batting aggressively. As a result, after 26 overs, India’s score was 153 runs. Then in 30.5 overs, Shikhar Dhawan hit a boundary and won.
Dhawan scored 81 runs in 113 balls with the help of 9 fours and Gill scored 82 runs in 72 balls with the help of 10 fours and one six. India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.HS1Ms
