The temple committee has taken the issue of making reels by security personnel seriously after several controversial incidents involving devotees in the temple premises and tarnishing the image of the temple due to it. Due to this, from Tuesday i.e. from tomorrow 20 December 2022, a complete ban has been imposed on carrying mobiles and bags in the temple.
Giving information, the administrator of Ujjain Mahakal temple Sandeep Soni said that arrangements have been made to keep 10,000 mobiles and bags at three entrances. An entrance near the administrator’s office at number 4 and one at the Mansarovar gate where devotees have to go through the digital process.
He said that the process has been made very easy and due to this the devotees will not face any kind of problem. The arrangement will be like this in Mahakal Mandir, Mansarovar Gate, Protocol Entrance Gate 4 and Bhasma Aarti Counter near Administrative Office will have facilities for keeping mobiles and bags for devotees.
Along with this, high-tech CCTV will be installed in the locker room, there will be separate lines for those carrying mobiles and bags. Initially 1000 lockers have been arranged here. If the devotee has come with a family and everyone has a mobile phone, someone will give the mobile phone in the tray and its photo will be taken.
As soon as the photo is taken, an OUI code will be generated and its print will be given to the devotee, who has to bring it back and show it to the devotee. The details of the devotee will be updated in the software and the locker number will be mentioned in that receipt.
This restriction will remain only in the Mahakal Temple and has not been enforced in the Mahakal Mahaloka. In view of the new year, orders have also been issued to completely ban the entry of devotees into the sanctum sanctorum of the temple from December 24, 2022 to January.
