New Delhi, Royal Challengers Bangalore registered a resounding victory in a low-scoring match with the help of a brilliant performance by the bowlers after the failure of the batsmen. The match played at Lucknow’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium was affected by rain. In which Royal Challengers Bangalore showed a great performance in bowling and registered a victory against Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs.
Bangalore won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the Bangalore team could only score 126 runs for nine wickets in 20 overs against a strong performance by the Lucknow bowlers.
In response, the Lucknow team was all out for 108 runs in 19.5 overs. Lucknow’s captain Lokesh Rahul was injured due to which he came to the 11th position in the batting. A target of 127 against Lucknow was an easy target but the Bangalore bowlers defended it brilliantly.
Against Bangalore’s brilliant bowling, Lucknow had a poor start. In 38 runs, half the team had gathered in the pavilion. Even opener Kyle Myers could not open the account. While his fellow opener was dismissed for just four runs. Deepak Hooda scored one run.
In the top order, Krunal Pandya scored 14 runs in 11 balls with three fours. As such, the middle order performance was also disappointing. Marcus Stoinis scored 13 runs while Nicholas Pooran scored nine runs to gather the pavilion. K Gautam scored the highest 23 runs for the team. He hit one four and two sixes in a 13-ball innings. While Amit Mishra contributed 19 runs and Naveen Ul Haq 13 runs.
As captain Rahul was injured, he came in to bat at number 11 and remained not out without opening the account. For Bangalore, Jaysh Hazlewood and Karn Sharma took two wickets each and Mohammad Siraj, Glenn Maxwell, Vanindu Hasaranga and Harshal Patel took one wicket each. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the toss and elected to bat first.
The opening batting of Virat Kohli and captain Faf du Plessis was slow. Due to which the team could not get a proper start. This JD registered a partnership of 62 runs in nine overs. Virat Kohli scored 31 runs in 30 balls with the help of three fours.
