Christmas is truly a time of joy and love. People sing carols and help those around them for the greater good. The streets are laid heavy with Christmas lights, and every house is filled with happiness. But sometimes, people get a little distracted by all of these lights and expectations of gifts. They forget the joy that Christmas Day is truly about. It is not just about the gifts, nor is it about the lights that hang from every ceiling.
It is about the people and the families that come together. When everyone who hadn’t met for the past year comes together and feels happy in each other’s presence. It is a time to recollect and share the happiness that we often take for granted. Just like this was a reminder, Tom Krause’s new book is an as equally excellent reminder for children. This book has a valuable lesson which about Christmas Day.
In this book, a child and his father are caroling in old London. The boy is shivering, but they continue to collect money for those who are less fortunate. The little boy stops and asks his father why he should share his hard-earned money with people he does not know. The words followed by the father are calming and informative and reignite the spirit of Christmas in the child. He starts to carol again, for the true meaning of Christmas is now known.
