GEORDIES make far from canny tenants — leaving the most mess when they move out, a study suggests.
Landlords told of finding old sofas, bags full of rubbish, broken beds and discarded clothes left by departing renters.

Those in Newcastle and the rest of the North East were the worst culprits — with 86 per cent leaving clutter in recently vacated properties.
The North West was second worst offender on 78 per cent, then the West Midlands on 77 per cent.
The tidiest region was the East of England — taking in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
Landlords there were only left with a mess by 49 per cent of their outgoing tenants.
Sharon Ford, 45, of Newcastle, calls hubby Ian “Mr Messy”.
She said: “Whichever room he’s in, he’ll leave it in a state.
“There’s towels and pants on the floor in the bathroom, magazines, books in the bedroom and dirty plates in the living room.
“Don’t get me started on the kitchen or the garden, they’re even worse when he’s been there.”
A spokesman for Direct Line Business Insurance, which commissioned the poll, said: “Tenants in the North East were the worst at leaving behind belongings.”
