Jaipur, In view of the outbreak of heat stroke in Rajasthan, the Medical and Health Department has canceled the leave of all medical personnel and restricted them to stay at the headquarters only.
In special circumstances, employees may go on leave only after approval from the competent level. The information about permission of leave has to be given to the Directorate. On the direction of Shubhra Singh, Additional Chief Secretary, Medical and Health Department, the Directorate of Medical and Health has issued a circular in this regard.
According to the circular, the leaves of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff have been canceled and they have been instructed to ensure necessary arrangements for prevention and treatment of heat stroke.
Director of Public Health Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur said that the circular has instructed that the control room in the offices related to medical services will be functional 24 hours a day. In case of emergency, citizens can also contact toll free number 108, 104 and helpline number 1070.
Instructions have been given to publicize these helpline numbers widely. In the circular, all medical institutions have been instructed to reserve beds for heat stroke patients, ensure availability of necessary drugs and testing facilities and adequate quantity of ice packs, ice cubes etc.
Also, it should be ensured that the air conditioners in the ambulances are in good condition and necessary medicines and equipments are available for treatment in case of emergency. The circular has instructed ASHA workers to create awareness among the general public about heat and protection from heat stroke by conducting comprehensive activities related to heat stroke.
Besides, instructions have also been issued to ensure availability of medical kits at MGNREGA sites and smooth supply of water and electricity to hospitals. Information about all these arrangements has to be sent to the Director's Office daily in the prescribed format.
