Virat Kohli gets into trouble with umpire – Kohli fined 50% of his match fee

However, Royal Challengers Bangalore's star batsman Virat Kohli's wicket was becoming controversial in this match. Kohli was furious with the way he was dismissed.
In the match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Virat Kohli was seen very angry about his wicket and his anger was so much that he had an argument with the umpire. Virat Kohli was caught and bowled by Harshit Rana. However, Virat Kohli believed that it was a no-ball. However, the third umpire declared him out. This is the reason why Virat Kohli started arguing with the umpire.
However, now it is Kohli's turn to be penalized for his behaviour. Virat Kohli was found guilty of Level 1 under Section 2.8 of the Indian Code of Conduct. Virat Kohli also admitted his crime and accepted the match referee's punishment. The decision of the match referee for a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct is final and binding. Kohli has been fined 50 percent of his match fee, meaning Kohli will have to pay half of his match fee as fine.
In the 36th match of IPL 2024, Virat Kohli, who was batting from Bangalore against Kolkata, was dismissed on a full toss ball against fast bowler Harshit Rana. That ball from Harshit Rana seemed to be going way high from the waist.
The video replay clearly showed that the ball was above his waist. In such a situation, Virat Kohli believed that the ball should be declared a no ball, but the decision of the third umpire gave him out. It actually happened that Virat Kohli was playing that ball from Harshit Rana outside his crease. Apart from this, he stood on his toes when he played the ball.
