The army foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists early on Tuesday morning. However, one army soldier was injured in the heavy firing. The operation is still going on at the spot. An infiltration attempt was made in Batal of Poonch district early on Tuesday morning. Earlier on Monday, terrorists tried to attack the house of the Village Defense Committee in Rajouri. The army foiled the attack and launched a cordon and search operation in the area. A jawan and a civilian have been injured in this incident.
The army said that there was an exchange of fire with the terrorists throughout the day. A joint team of Army, Police, Central Reserve Police Force and VDG has cordoned off the area. The spokesperson of the army said that a major terrorist attack on an army post in a remote village of Rajouri has been foiled. A soldier and a civilian, a relative of a village defense committee member, sustained minor injuries in the attack and were admitted to hospital. This was the 14th terror attack in Jammu region.
