Nadiad, Gujarat has been illuminating the name of the state in the field of sports and making sports professions in the last 2 decades. In 2010, as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he took a new initiative of Khel Mahakumbh, which has led to a new vigor among the players of the state and is facing talents from the remote areas. Due to this initiative, players including Sarita Gaikwad, Murali Gavit have met Gujarat and have illuminated the state’s name national and internationally.
It is worth mentioning that, every year on May 7, World Athletics Day is celebrated, the main purpose of which is to raise awareness about the importance of fitness in the youth and encourage them to participate in games, especially athletics. The state -level athletics competition organized under the Khel Mahakumbh initiative in Gujarat also fulfills this vision.
More than 6300 players took part in Khel Mahakumbh 3.0 State Level Athletics Competition
Recently, from April 14 to April 30, Khel Mahakumbh 3.0 State Level Athletics Competition was organized at Nadiad in Kheda district, in which 6369 players from the state participated. The state -level state competition at the High Performance Center by the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel
Was planned. Players participating in the competition include Under-9, Under-11, Under-14, Under-17, Open Age Group 3251 brothers and 3118 sisters.
Khel Mahakumbh’s state -level athletics competition rangs from 30 meters to 5000 meters race, 80m herds, 100th herds, 110th herds, 400th herds, long jumps, high jumps, bamboo jumps, lame jumps, chakra fakes, spears, spears, rings. The winning players were awarded a medal and tracksuit in these games at the Khel Mahakumbh 3.0 State Level Athletics Competition.
Talented players met Gujarat by Khel Mahakumbh
Due to the Khel Mahakumbh initiative launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Gujarat has met talented players like Sarita Gaikwad, Mayur Malviya, Ruchi Mori, Gavit Murali. It is worth mentioning that Dang’s ‘Golden Girl’ Sarita Gaikwad has won the gold medal in the women’s 4 × 400m relay team at the Asian Games 2018 and Murali Gavit won the bronze medal in the men’s 10000m competition at the Asian Athletics Championship in 2019. The Gujarat government is committed to promoting the ability of such talented players.
Today, the Khel Mahakumbh, which is organized in collaboration with the Government of Gujarat and the Sports Authority of India, has become Asia’s largest grassroots talent identification and development program. Millions of players of all ages participate in this mega sports event. In the Khel Mahakumbh 2.0, more than 53 lakh 66 thousand law was taken and he was awarded the Economic Award.
Sports budget increased 141 times in 20 years, Gujarat launches sports policy 2022-2027
In the last 20 years, the Gujarat government has set up a world -class infrastructure with the aim of promoting citizens in the field of sports. Before 2002, Gujarat’s sports budget was only ₹ 2.5 crore, which has crossed ₹ 352 crore in 2024. It is worth mentioning that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, Gujarat launched a sports policy 2022-2027, which aims to develop a sports ecosystem in the state. With the new policy, Gujarat will be leading in sports in the coming days and the state’s talented players will have more opportunities to fulfill their dreams.
