Under the guidance of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel is developing many religious places on the one hand, with his passionate approach and developing many religious places by fulfilling the mantra of the Prime Minister’s ‘Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi’, while thousands of devotees are helping to perform pilgrimage.
The state government is conducting various schemes that can travel to Indus Darshan and Kailash Man Sarovar in addition to their favorite and faith pilgrimage in the state with government assistance. Such schemes are operating through the state government through its public venture through the ‘Gujarat Holy Pilgrimage Development Board’. These schemes, which are running since 2017-18, include ‘Shravan Tirtha Darshan Yojana’, ‘Sindhu Darshan Yojana’ and ‘Kailash Mann Sarovar Yojana’.
The devotees are benefiting a large number of these schemes run by the Gujarat Holy Pilgrimage Development Board. According to the statistics from 2017-18, under the above three schemes, the state government has given travel to various pilgrimage to 1 lakh 58 thousand 760 devotees and paid ₹ 20 crore, 62 lakh 93 thousand assistance to the beneficiary devotees.
These pilgrimage schemes are getting good response in the state. In the last three years, a total of 66 thousand 233 devotees have traveled to the pilgrimage under these schemes during the year 2022-23 to 2024-25 (from March-2025). The state government has paid a total of 9.9 crore 86 lakh 39 thousand assistance to these devotees. The most elders have benefited from these schemes.
In the last 3 years, a total of 64,722 elders have traveled in 1,385 buses to benefit from pilgrimage. The state government has paid ₹ 7 crore 59 lakh 50 thousand assistance for these elders. In addition; In the last three years, the Indus Darshan Yojana has benefited 1508 and Kailash Man Sarovar Yatra Yojana has benefited. The state government has paid ₹ 2 crore 26 lakh 20 thousand to the beneficiaries of the Indus Darshan Yojana and ₹ 69 thousand to the beneficiaries of Kailash Mann Sarovar Yojana.
According to information received from the board, 34,846 senior citizens traveled through 819 buses under the Shravan Tirtha Darshan Yojana in 2022-23. For this, the government has paid ₹ 4 crore 26 lakh 7 thousand assistance to the elders.
Likewise; Under the Indus Darshan Yojana, 908 devotees have been paid ₹ 1 crore 36 lakh 20 thousand assistance. Under the Shravan Tirtha Darshan Yojana in 2023-24, 10,699 elders traveled through 239 buses, for which the government has paid them ₹ 1 crore 36 lakh 17 thousand assistance, while under the Indus Darshan Yojana, 300 devotees have been paid ₹ 45 lakh.
In the last year 2024-25, 15,537 senior citizens of the Shravan Tirtha Darshan Yojana took advantage of 327 buses and traveled to various pilgrimages. The government paid him ₹ 1 crore 97 lakh 26 thousand assistance, while under the Indus Darshan Yojana, 300 pilgrims have been paid ₹ 45 lakh. The Gujarat government is making important contributions to the desire for the pilgrimage of Gujarati devotees.
