(Agency) Paris, Indian shooter Manu Bhakar has created history. He has won a bronze medal. Manu Bhakar performed brilliantly in the women's 10m air pistol final and won the bronze. Manu is the first woman shooter to win a medal at the Olympics for India.
Manu Bhakar has won the bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol final. Manu is participating in her second Olympic Games. He made his debut at Tokyo Olympics 2020, but his performance was nothing special.
Manu became the first Indian shooter to win a medal at the Olympics. Manu scored a total of 221.7 points in the final. This was India's first medal in the ongoing Paris Olympics. Also, this was India's fifth medal in shooting in Olympic history. Korean players Oh Ye Jin (243.2 points) and Kim Ye Ji (241.3) won the silver medal.
Manu Bhakar finished third in the qualifying round of 60 shots with a total of 580 points. Bhakar scored 97 in first series, 97 in second, 98 in third, 96 in fourth, 96 in fifth series and 96 in sixth series. Rhythm Sangwan was also competing in the women's 10m air pistol event, but she disappointed. Rhythm is at 15th position with 573 points.
