New Delhi/Pipawav, 13 August 2024: Maruti Suzuki India Limited, India's leading automobile manufacturing company has started exporting its 'Made-in-India' SUV Fronx to Japan. This landmark celebrates the spirit of the landmark 'Make in India' initiative and resonates with national pride. The Fronx is manufactured exclusively at Maruti Suzuki's state-of-the-art Gujarat plant. The first consignment of over 1,600 vehicles left for Japan from Pipavao port in Gujarat.
The award-winning Fronx is Maruti Suzuki's second model to be exported to Japan after the Baleno in 2016. The Fronx is planned to be launched in Japan by Maruti Suzuki's parent company, Suzuki Motor Corporation, in autumn 2024. This historic achievement symbolizes the growing strength and global reach of the Indian manufacturing industry.

Export performance Maruti Suzuki, India's number one passenger vehicle exporter* has exported 2.8 lakh vehicles to over 100 countries in FY 2023-24. The company accounts for 42% of passenger vehicle exports from the country. Maruti Suzuki exported a record 70,560 vehicles in Q1 of FY 2024-25, the highest ever in any Q1 for the company.
