Hamas, After the death of 6 Israeli hostages in Gaza, pressure is increasing on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a ceasefire and the release of the hostages.
The armed wing of Hamas warned that the hostages would arrive on Israeli soil in coffins if Israel continued its military operation, following a tough stance by the Israeli PM on Monday. He also said that new instructions have been given to the Mujahideen guarding the hostages.
Abu Obeidah, a spokesman for the Azzedine al-Qassam Brigades, said in a statement that Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu's insistence on freeing the prisoners by continuing the military operation instead of an agreement would mean the hostages would be returned to their families in coffins.
He warned that new instructions had been issued to the mujahideen guarding the hostages, to deal with them if the Israeli army reached where the hostages were being held. Netanyahu had earlier said that the bodies of six hostages had been found.
He was hanged by Hamas terrorists. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also took a hard line against Hamas, saying “those who kill hostages do not want a deal for a Gaza ceasefire.” He promised that he would hold Hamas terrorists accountable. After the death of six hostages, the people of Israel took to the streets and appealed to the PM to release the hostages soon.
For the past several months, the US, Qatar and Egypt have been trying to broker a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. But Hamas is steadfast in its demand for a full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and a permanent ceasefire.
On the other hand, Israel is talking about ending the war only after the complete destruction of Hamas. The people of Israel are very angry with these decisions of Netanyahu. Expressing their displeasure, people are appealing to the government to reach a settlement as soon as possible to bring the hostages home safely. About 1200 people have been killed so far in this war which has been going on for the last 11 months.
About 250 people were taken hostage. It is being said that Hamas is still holding more than 100 Israeli citizens hostage. At the same time, more than 40 thousand Palestinians have died in Gaza so far. About 90 percent of the 23 lakh people have been forced to leave their homes.SS1MS
