Kamdhenu University, Gandhinagar was established for education, research and extension in the fields of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry, dairying and fisheries. It has been done by the state government with the noble aim of education.
In 2018, Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) was launched in line with the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) launched by the Government of India with the aim of creating outstanding world-class institutions.
Universities across the state of Gujarat participated in GSIRF – 2024. Kamdhenu University participated in GSIRF – 2024 for Agriculture category in which only Kamdhenu University has received five star rating in Agriculture category among all agricultural universities in the state.
