'National Leprosy Eradication Program' has been implemented in Gujarat to create more awareness about leprosy among the citizens and provide free treatment. In such a situation, with the noble intention of raising awareness about the disease and eradicating leprosy, the 'Leprosy Eradication Program' will be conducted by the state government from December 12 to December 21, 2024 in 21 districts and 6 corporations, according to the list of the health department. Inspections will be conducted in areas where the highest number of leprosy cases have been reported in the last 5 years.

Leprosy detection campaign will be conducted in designated 164 talukas of these districts. All household members will be screened for leprosy. A person with suspected symptoms of leprosy to the nearest Primary Health Centre, They will be referred to mass health centers and hospitals for diagnosis and treatment, he added.
