National31 March2025: IFFCO welcomed Tribhuvan Co -operative University Bill, 2025 in the Lok Sabha, and then in the lower house on March 26, 2025. Announcing the bill, Honorable Co -operation and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said that after 75 years of independence, the country is getting its first cooperative university today.
He said the bill would strengthen the rural economy, develop the ecosystem of self -employed and small units, promote social inclusion, and establish new standards in innovation and research. He said that in one way, the whole country would get a new cooperative leadership, inspired by the spirit of cooperation and equipped with modern education.
Ifco Managing Director Dr. Uday Shankar Awasthi said, “I praise Tribhuvan Cooperative University Bill 2025. This is a historic step towards the development of cooperation. The place of cooperation will bring a new revolution in the cooperation field.
I welcome the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Shri Amit Shah, Minister of Honorable Home and Cooperation. This is a big step for Indian agriculture, farmers and rural development. This will make the villages of our country stronger. “
He said, “The establishment of sector-based schools across the country will help fertilizer cooperatives and especially ifco. It will empower the cooperators from the new generation of professionals in the field of fertilizer cooperative management and marketing. Will also train cooperatives, which will make them skilled. “
Praising the move, Mr. Dilip Sanghani, Chairman of IFCO, said that the move will ensure that the nutrition and care of the seeds for the next generation of cooperative leadership will be done under a system, which will be operated by cooperatives for cooperatives. He expressed his gratitude to the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji, under whose guidance, Shri Amit Shahji, the first Union Co -operative Minister, is acting drastically with the slogan of 'Co -operative Se Dooradhya'. Tribhuvan Co -operative University will work to meet this requirement when a skilled manpower is required for the development and expansion of the cooperative sector. After the formation of a cooperative university, its diploma and degree holders will get jobs.
The university can make significant contributions to the domestic and global value chain. The cooperative culture of the new era will also be started from this university, which will unite the passion of professional management. Under the guidance of the Ministry of Cooperation by consultation with cooperatives across the country, a certified course for this university will be developed.
With special courses in cooperative marketing, cooperative professional management will be able to market their products globally, which will improve the overall output and increase the income of the cooperative sector with the passion of 'Local to Global'.
Cooperative principles and cooperative activities will be expanded. The cooperative sector will benefit from new technology, which will reach those who are deprived of the cooperative sector. It will also strengthen the rural economy.
The Union Cooperation Minister said that the first university in the country dedicated to the cooperative sector will be built after 75 years of independence and that every year, about 8 lakh candidates will have the ability to graduate, degree or diploma with certification. This will give the cooperative movement new energy.
Mr. Jeron Douglas, Director General of the International Cooperative Alliance, said in a video message that this is a step that will only strengthen the Indian Cooperative Movement as well as increase the information as an important step in the global cooperative movement. He thanked the Indian leadership for announcing this in 2025, which has been appointed by the United Nations as an international co -operative year.
