New Delhi, Team India have been announced for next month’s five-match T20 series against South Africa and a Test match against England in July. KL Rahul has been made the captain for the T20 series. This will be Rahul’s third series as captain. Along with Hardik, veteran Dinesh Karthik has also returned to international cricket.
He had earlier captained South Africa in a Test match in January and in a three-match ODI series against Africa. At the same time, regular captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been rested for the T20 series.
Rohit will return as captain in the lone Test against England and Virat Kohli as batsman. KL Rahul has been named vice-captain for the Test series. The home T20 series against South Africa will start on June 7 and end on June 15.
Its matches will be played in Delhi, Cuttack, Visakhapatnam, Rajkot and Bangalore. The selectors, led by Chetan Sharma, have selected the team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The World Cup is set to take place in Australia this year. At the same time, the Indian team will leave for England on June 15. The Test match will be played in Birmingham from July 1. All-rounder Hardik Pandya has returned to international cricket after seven months.
He has not played a single international match since last year’s T20 World Cup. Hardik has been included in the squad for the T20 series against South Africa.
