Where is Bushy Park?
Bushy Park is the second-largest of the Royal Parks, occupying 1,000 acres of rolling parkland in the heart of South West London. It lies directly across the river from the popular town of Kingston upon Thames. The park also borders the leafy suburbs of Teddington, Surbiton and Hampton Wick. The historic Hampton Court Palace lies just across the road with its sprawling Home Park, another of London’s beloved Royal Parks.
Bushy Park is easily reachable from Central London. The mainline stations at Hampton Wick, Hampton Court and Teddington are all nearby. Meanwhile, the major arterial roads of the A3 and the A316 pass close by on their way to the motorway network.
A historical and ecological treasure trove
Bushy Park still shows remnants of its medieval farming systems. It also bears the marks of its time as a Tudor deer park. There are 17th century water gardens and various neoclassical features among its rolling grasslands, ornamental gardens and ancient woodland.
