Islamabad, Miscreants attacked a police team with rockets in Pakistan's Punjab province on Thursday. At least 11 policemen were killed and many injured in the attack. Several policemen were taken hostage.
The attack on the police took place when two mobile police vans got stuck on a muddy road at Macha Point. “Meanwhile, bandits reached there and attacked them with rockets,” said a Punjab Police spokesperson.
At least 11 policemen were killed on the spot in the attack, while some were taken hostage and others were injured.” He said the death toll could rise as the condition of some of the injured was critical. After the attack, the criminals managed to escape.
After the incident, a large number of police forces reached the spot and admitted the injured to Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan. Usman Anwar was ordered to reach the spot and launch an operation to rescue the policemen held hostage by the criminals.
He said that the rule of criminals in the rough areas (para) of such districts will not be tolerated. Earlier, the case of firing on a school van in Attock, Pakistan came to light. The attack was carried out by an unknown person. In which two children have died while five children have been injured. The incident took place in Dheri Kot of Attock. The driver of the school van was also injured in the attack.
The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment. Attock police say that the assailant fired and fled from the spot. All the children are between 10 and 12 years old. Regional Police Officer Babar Sarfaraz Alpa says that this incident happened due to personal enmity. The target of the attacker was the driver but school children were also his victims. A case has been registered against the accused in this matter. Police have started arresting the accused.SS1MS
