Artisans across India with the support of various NGOs Vi Displayed his artworks at the stores of
Celebrating India, leading telecom operator Vi has launched a unique initiative Artisans of India. This special initiative celebrates the craftsmanship and skills of local artisans and adds a sparkling touch across the country.
Vi helped provide a platform to over 60 talented artisans across all its stores in various states. In Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, New Delhi, Karnataka, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Gujarat, Vi Stores partnered with local voluntary organizations to showcase artisan creations to the public.
Working with various crafts and traditions, these artisans displayed hand-dyed bags, intricate embroidery, paintings, toys, decorated lamps and other items.
The NGOs that Vi has partnered with for this initiative include Universal Smile, Accent, Astha Foundations Pravarya School for Specially-Abled Children, Shswa Samiti-Swastik Handicraft Women's Welfare Association, Disha Shakti Swayam Sahayita Group and RAFEC. At the South City store in Kolkata, Universal Smile displayed hand-dyed bags made by women with proceeds going to support an orphanage while the Astha Foundation in Gujarat created and displayed decorated divas in collaboration with children with disabilities.
These efforts demonstrate Vi's commitment to providing support to local communities and preserving India's rich artistic heritage.
