Paris, Avni Lekhara has won India's first medal in the Paralympic Games. She has won a gold medal in the SH1 category of women's 10m air rifle shooting with a Paralympic record. He scored 249.7. Avni also held the previous Paralympic record of 249.6, which she set in Tokyo.
Korea's Eunri Lee took the silver, with a score of 246.8. India's Mona Aggarwal won the bronze medal with a score of 228.7. Avni finished second and Mona fifth in the qualification round.

In the penultimate round, the Korean shooter took first place and Avni came second. While Mona was out of the race for the gold medal after finishing third. In the last round, Avni set a Paralympic record and won gold with a score of 249.7. While the Korean shooter was second with 246.8 points.
Both the Indian athletes missed out on a medal in the F55 category final of the women's discus throw. Sakshi Kasana is sixth and Jyoti Karam is seventh. Sakshi's best score was 21.49 and Jyoti's was 20.22. China's Fixia Dong won the gold medal with a best score of 26.39. Maria Rosa of Mexico won the silver medal and Diana Krumina of Latvia won the bronze medal.
