All the water from the garden of this hotel used to come down from this wall. On Friday, it was raining heavily in Ujjain since 4:00 pm, due to which all the water started building pressure on the wall. Meanwhile, the wall collapsed.
This wall fell on the people who were selling prasad, flowers etc. to Shiva devotees coming to Mahakaleshwar temple. A woman and a man tragically died in the incident, while the injured were admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Smart City official Neeraj Pandey said that the wall was given a beautiful look due to the movement of devotees. This wall was plastered and part of the wall was also rebuilt, while the entire wall was not rebuilt.
After plastering, this wall was painted, on which images of Lord Shiva were created. He said that the entire area has been handed over to the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation. Now repairs and other works are also done here by Tourism Development Corporation.
Ujjain Divisional Commissioner Sanjay Gupta said that the incident is very sad and will be investigated. He said that if anyone is found guilty in the investigation, strict action will be taken against him. Ujjain IG Santosh Kumar Singh said that the first rescue operation is being carried out. The entire matter will be investigated after the completion of the rescue operation.
