Many Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) across the country have worked with small and partial farmers to create sustainable and significant partnerships.
BANGALORE: Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today announced that it has trained more than 10,000 farmers across the country to provide nationwide market access and growth. Flipkart has trained over 10000 farmers on product quality and food safety to enable market access and empower the farmer community
Flipkart Grocery, as part of its commitment to helping farmers in their digital journey, has helped many Farmer Producer Organizations (Afrios) in their current endeavors and strives to provide a cohesive and stable platform to the farming community and farmer producer organizations across the country.
Flipkart undertook a training and capacity building program to enable FPOs to adhere to quality standards on e-commerce platforms so that it could further strengthen the productivity of FPOs, small and partial farmers.
Training and education covers all aspects of manufacturing, raw material supply, repackaging centers, quality product testing, policy purchases, purchase orders, payment terms and conditions, and logistics. All this is done through virtual and on-ground training sessions.
Flipkart has collaborated with FPOs and small and partial farmers in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Through this collaboration, Flipkart will bring the source of pulses, millets and whole spices on the platform and this will affect the livelihood of thousands of farmers.
Flipkart has many on-board FOPs across the country, including ABY Farmers, Shree Satya Sai MAC Fed, Janjivan Nirala Herbal, Sahyadri Farm Supply Chain and others. Flipkart Marketplace gives them access to more than 400 million customers across the country.

Flipkart Grocery currently serves more than 1800 cities and more than 10,000 pincodes in 28 Indian states across the country. Covering a total area of 2.7 million square feet at present, 28 fulfillment centers have been set up and operations have increased significantly in the last 2 years to meet the growing demand for online groceries across the country.
