Spread over 1.25 lakh square feet, the new Sortation Center in Ahmedabad will enable faster fulfillment of customer orders across Gujarat.
As part of preparations for the upcoming festival, Amazon India has announced the opening of its largest sorting center in Gujarat. The Sortation Center located in Bavla area in Ahmedabad and spread over an area of 1.25 lakh sq.ft will sort and connect the packages of the customers to the delivery stations in Ahmedabad and other cities of the state. With this expansion, Amazon India will now have 3 sortation centers spanning over 1.35 lakh sortation area. This expansion will support over 1.5 lakh vendors in the state to reach out to a larger customer base, along with a wider selection of products and faster delivery this festive season.
Amazon India has announced the launch of its largest sorting center in Gujarat. Situated in Ahmedabad, and spread across 1.25 lakh sq. ft., this facility will sort and connect customer packages to the delivery stations of Ahmedabad and other cities of the state.

With this expansion in Gujarat, Amazon India will create various job opportunities in the state. These opportunities will be in roles ranging from Sortation Center Managers, Sorters and Process Associates who will work collaboratively to fulfill the promise of customer delivery.
Sortation centers are an important component of Amazon’s logistics network. Packages are sent from fulfillment centers to sortation centers, where they are sorted by advanced technology and automation before being sent to delivery stations in the city or other parts of the state.
Sortation depends on the destination and the shipping method used by the customers. This extensive network helps in increasing the speed of delivery of packages to customers all over Gujarat and other parts of the country.
The new Sortation Center has state-of-the-art infrastructure design and facilities that promote sustainable solutions to drive water conservation with more than 10 rainwater harvesting pits and waste water treatment for water recycling to meet flushing water needs and gardening.
