Chartered Speed and Adani Realty join hands to provide mobility services in flagship township Shantigram – Shantigram becomes India’s number one township with all-electric mobility
Rs. With an investment of Rs 20 crore, Chartered Speed will induct 10 buses and 100 e-bikes by April, 2023.
Ahmedabad, passenger mobility leader Chartered Speed Limited has flagged off its first edition of electric vehicles at Shantigram. With this, Shantigram has become India’s first township equipped with electric vehicles. Chartered Speed and Adani Realty act jointly to provide inter and intra-mobility services in the flagship township- Shantigram Ahmedabad.
Around 10,000 beneficiaries will have access to premium inter and intra-township mobility services that will help connect them with the rest of Ahmedabad. The company has about Rs. 20 crore and plans to deploy 10 electric buses and 100 e-bikes by April 2023.
“We are delighted to launch the first inter-mobility services at Shantigram, one of India’s favorite integrated townships. Due to the rapidly changing lifestyle and the need for more sustainable and environment-friendly vehicles for commuting, many people are opting for electric vehicles.
With this initiative, people living in the township will be able to easily travel within the premises with e-bikes. In addition, our electric bus services will give residents great flexibility to connect with the rest of Ahmedabad at an affordable cost”, said Mr. Pankaj Gandhi, Managing Director, Chartered Speed Limited.
Chartered Speed will deploy 10 buses for residents covering most areas of Ahmedabad. Passengers daily Rs. 125 per month or Rs. 3,000 will be able to reach their destination in the city by availing the pass facility.
Chartered Bikes will provide 25 e-bikes based on battery swapping model for commuting within the township itself. These e-bikes will have a range of around 50 km and will run at a maximum speed of 25 km per hour. Users only get Rs. 10 can get a 30 minute ride.
Shri Gandhi added, “This sustainable and unique model will set an example to show how technical solutions enabled by e-vehicles can transform the transport and residential sectors. Under our long-term relationship with Adani Shantigram, we will set up residential public e-vehicle infrastructure that will be owned, operated and maintained by us.”
About the initiative, a Shantigram official said, “We are encouraging residents to buy electric vehicles at Shantigram, setting up EV charging infrastructure, intra township cycling service and now electric bus service for city commuting to enhance the lifestyle of residents and employees. We are taking many green initiatives including We strive to increase green footprints while providing better facilities, amenities in line with our philosophy, ‘Address of Goodness’.”
